Security Guard / New York

The Security Guard will ensure the safety and security of people, facility and company property by monitoring the building entrance. A hospitality focused enterprise the Security Guard will act as a lobby ambassador greeting all members, guests and arriving clients to Spring with salutations and a smile.  Candidates must have customer service experience and have the ability to provide 5-star customer service to our guests.

  • Report safety breaches or safety concerns to management
  • May be responsible for removing people from the premises when necessary for the safety and security of guests and employees
  • Direct members, clients and guests to correct front desk associate
  • Ensure employees of Verizon, hourly employees of Spring Place and Spring Studios and deliveries use loading dock entrance
  • Monitor the perimeter of the facility and immediate vicinity including ensuring traffic regulations and no standing rules on St. Johns Lane are adhered to
  • Monitor cleanliness standards in the immediate vicinity of St. Johns Lane, Varick Street, neighboring buildings and shared spaces
  • Ensure the entrance to Spring is always clean and free of unnecessary debris and trash
  • Ensure loading dock policies are being adhered to
  • Maintain a professional appearance and wear company provided uniform
  • Wear ear piece and headset
  • Adhere to and enforce all Spring set stipulations
  • Ad hoc duties as requested; including but limited to: page duties and other errands, tours of building and the local vicinity to ensure safety, security and community board compliance. Administrative duties, loading dock duties, crowd control, snow shoveling, housekeeping, window cleaning and lifting packages and deliveries, escorting VIPs and guests to designated destinations and serving as liaison to various building employees. 

 

CAPABILITIES:

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Characteristics

  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent, college education a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Possess Fire Safety Director and/or Fire Guard designation a plus
  • Experience in hospitality and customer service
  • Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively
  • Must have training in security procedures
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Neat and professional appearance
  • Security License certification is a must with onus on the individual to keep current
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to independently operate passenger elevator and ADA elevators
