Technical Producer

Our Events Production team is in search of a reliable Technical Producer to join our New York team. Reporting to the Head of Production and Executive Producer the Technical Producer is responsible for the provision of all technical services including; acting as a liaison with client and event sales team; provision of design and production across all projects; presentation management and budgeting & financial control of projects ensuring maximization of potential new business while maintaining profitability.



•  Working with the sales team obtain accurate brief regarding client needs and communicate appropriately to team on the technical services available

•  Provide preliminary logistical, audio-visual and stage set direction & supply relevant information for client proposals

•  Review and feedback logistical & technical information for proposed venue use and highlight known areas of concern

•  Update and advise clients (internal & external) via status reports

•  Manage change and communicate solutions to clients and vendors

•  Ensure accurate on-site information is compiled by events team, including call-sheet with production schedule and load list, agendas, location maps, floor plan / set plots, logistics information etc.

•  Review and/or provide preliminary/initial CAD / Drawing package layouts for all project floor plans and venue plans

•  Review final plans with client, production and design team


•  Research and identify appropriate suppliers to suit brief

•  Collaborate with the Procurement Manager on management of vendor process, including selection, negotiation of terms and management of appropriate suppliers

•   Review contractual terms and ensure all agreements are signed by both the supplier and the approver

•   Set up and attend site visits / demos / appraisals / new product introductions

•   Update suppliers of changes in specifications and legal or H&S requirements

•   Agree and approve payment of deposit schedules

•   Communicate supplier information (accom/transfer lists and function sheets) at the appropriate times

•   Monitor and confirm all subsequent changes

•   Confirm budget approval / revisions and client sign off prior to event


•    Meet with and confirm all arrangements with individual suppliers

•    Ensure all updates / changes are communicated to suppliers continuously

•    Review invoicing / currency / exchange and local taxing procedure. Oversee financial direction and control of event with finance and procurement

•    Ensure conformance to the agreed standards, regulations and guidelines for venues

•    Approve and allocate vendor storage

•    Ensure proper communication with building management for permitting and event specific common area uses


•    Ensure records are updated to reflect accurate tally with actual figures

•    Approve, review and arrange amendments to and following payment of the final account with finance


•     5+ years experience of technical event production experience

•     2+ years experience working in a project management role

•     2+ years experience with vendor assessment and management

•     Possesses significant knowledge of technical event support system architectures

•     Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, ability to work in CAD

•     Organized and detail oriented

•     Team player that will go the extra mile for clients and colleagues

•     Bachelors Degree in Media Production, Stage or Event Management or equivalent work experience

•     Amazing problem solving skills coupled with the ability to deal with curve balls in a calm manner

•     Excellent communication skills
